I spent just 3 days in Sochi. To my mind, this is a nice resort city, though I wouldn't come here twice. My advice is - go to Dubai. I don't think it'll be more pricy, but much more adventurous and impressive
Because of the Wuflu travel outside Russia wasn't available. But going to Sochi was great since it feels very European with all the great parks and such. The beach areas are well set up and the restaurants were all quite pleasant to visit with very reasonable prices.
Sochi is a city that you must visit, in the winter and in the summer, you have to visit Rosa Hutor, Krasnoya polana, the 33 waterfalls, "climb" to "Rosa pik" and you will see the clouds beneath you !
Okay, gotta be blunt about Sochi, when I first arrived I stayed in a different location, huge mistake. Bad neighorhood and so so accomodations. But when I move closer to the beach I understood it was a wise choice. Sochi has a similar feel to Southern California with a mix of Santa Barbara. I was astounded how lush the vegetation was all over the city center. Everytime I turned around I'd find a new park with the same feel of coziness and warmth. The beach area was wonderful, many areas had umbrellas and lounge chairs that were set up for rent for very reasonable prices. One last note, the boardwalk along the beach area went on forever. Lots of fantastic restaurants and loads of little boutique stores with clothing shops and everything else under the sun. Amazing place, great experience.
I'm not an everday tourist trying to pack in everything in a short visit but there is enough to see for at least a week. Highlight's were Stalin's summer house, the Olympic stadium and walks along the Black Sea and river.
It’s divided into two regions Sochi with the beach and island vibes, I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I went to the Dolphinarium and got to swim with dolphins, went to the Disney land theme park with wonderful exciting rides and I went to AJ hattchet (though a bit out of town) but got to zip line and mega troll. And the second region is Krasnaya polyana which was a winter wonderland. Cheap messages, went to the indoor water park, and took the cable car to the highest snowy mountains and got to go on the swing. It was amazing. Everything is super cheap compared to Moscow, especially taxi.
Me and a friend went there for new years and stayed for about a week The staff were always nice and let us stay in the lobby and offered us tea and let us charge while we waited for our flight even though our stay was over earlier that day. The location is great everything in sochi is near you. And it was always clean. Its good value for money. 100% recommended
